Bitterroot Valley Communities & Relocation Guide

The Bitterroot Valley is cradled by the Sapphire Mountains on the east and the beautiful Bitterroot Mountains on the west (and a river runs through it).  It is comprised of several distinct communities along Highway 93 south from Florence up to Sula (the bottom of Lost Trail Pass).

The communities are: Florence, Stevensville, Victor, Corvallis, Hamilton, Darby, Conner, Sula

Relocating to a new area is an exciting journey, but it often comes with plenty of questions. To help make your transition to the Bitterroot Valley as smooth as possible, I’ve compiled a list of local resources you might need along the way.  Whether you’re looking for utility providers, schools, healthcare, or recommendations for the best local services, this page is your go-to guide for settling into your new home and community.

Nestled in the heart of the Bitterroot, Stevensville is a quaint and bustling little town with big history. Established by Jesuit missionaries 48 years before Montana became a state, Stevensville is the oldest permanent settlement of non-indigenous peoples.

Corvallis Welcome Sign

Home of the Blue Devils, the Western Ag-Research Center, the last commercial orchard in the state of Montana, and my personal favorite, the world-famous rodeo clown, Danger Dave Whitmoyer, Corvallis is a quaint little village with a big heart. This area of the valley has some of the most fertile soil and is comprised of many small ranches, farms and homesteads. Conveniently located just a few minutes from downtown Hamilton, Corvallis is a beautiful place to make your home.
